I’m drawn to this space like so many others. My cousin was diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. Like other families, we have a family group chat that regularly pings to celebrate his milestones and share our joint frustrations. The prevalence of ASD has grown immensely over the last decade, and the inaccessibility to care is alarming. In 2022, I wanted to learn more.
So, I scraped all of the data I could find about ABA and what prevents teams from growing to keep up with skyrocketing need. So much of what I found was rooted in teams feeling overworked. There I was, building self-driving cars for Google, and an industry that needed technology the most felt overlooked. There are so many opportunities to embed, augment, and enhance autism care with technology. I’m excited for what it can do to elevate the quality and accessibility of care.
